Curtain Measuring Guide

With our tailor-made Measurement Assistant, simplify the curtain measuring process effortlessly. It guides you seamlessly through each step, ensuring accurate measurements and a worry-free, convenient experience.

Step 1:Measure the Width

  • If the curtain pole is already installed:

Measure the length of the pole and note it down.

  • If the curtain pole is not yet installed:

First, decide where you'd like to position the pole above and to the sides of the window frame.

Recommended curtain rod hanging height: The curtain rod should generally be installed 6 to 10 inches above the window frame. If you want the window to appear taller, you can install the curtain rod closer to the ceiling.

Recommended curtain rod width: The curtains should be 6 to 15 inches wider on each side than the actual window width to ensure complete coverage and prevent light from leaking in from the sides.

Step 2:Recommendations for curtain pleat multiples:

To achieve a natural pleating effect, the total width of the curtain should be 1.5 to 2 times the measured width.

1.5x Fullness: This is a relatively economical and practical choice. It can present a certain pleated effect but is relatively simple. Suitable for those who pursue a simple style, have a limited budget, or have a small window. It pulls up smoothly and does not appear too thick.

2x Fullness: It can present a very full pleated effect and appears more luxurious and grand. Suitable for larger windows or spaces with higher requirements for decorative effects, such as living rooms and master bedrooms. However, relatively speaking, more fabric will be used and the cost will be higher.

The fullness ratio varies depending on the curtain top style.

You can decide the fullness ratio based on the type of curtain top and determine how many panels are needed to achieve the desired fullness effect.

The fullness for these styles is already incorporated in the curtain's design, meaning you do not need to add extra width for fullness.

Width:For example, if the rod length is 100 inches, you want to order a width with 200% fullness for folds, then you may order 2 panels each 50 inches wide for Double French Pinch Pleat style.

Length:Length is measured from rod ring eyelet or track ring eyelet to floor.

Using a steel tape measure, measure the width and length as close as 1 inch.
